Registered Dental Assistant
Pay: $25.00 per hour Job type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday Location: Santa Barbara, California
About the Practice
We are an established, privately owned general dental practice that has served the Santa Barbara community for several decades. Our small, close-knit team provides personalized general, restorative, and cosmetic dental care.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Dental Assistant who wants stable, long-term employment and the opportunity to grow with the practice.
Position Responsibilities
-Provide chairside assistance during general, restorative, and cosmetic procedures
-Prepare patients, operatories, instruments, and materials for treatment
-Assist with crown and bridge procedures, cosmetic cases, temporary restorations, impressions, and digital scans
-Perform coronal polishing within the scope of an active California RDA license
-Take diagnostic radiographs
-Follow sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, and Dental Practice Act requirements
-Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked operatories
-Document treatment accurately in the patient record
-Monitor laboratory cases and due dates
-Support efficient patient flow and operatory turnover
-Communicate with patients in a kind and professional manner
-Work cooperatively with the doctor, clinical team, and front office
Required Qualifications
-Active California Registered Dental Assistant license
-Authorization and training to perform coronal polishing
-Current CPR/BLS certification
-Current California radiography certification
-Current infection-control and Dental
-Practice Act training
-At least one year of chairside experience in general dentistry
-Experience assisting with cosmetic and restorative procedures
-Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
-Dependable attendance and professional communication
-Strong organization and time-management skills
*Experience with Eaglesoft, digital scanning, Invisalign, crown and bridge procedures, and cosmetic cases is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting rate of $25.00 per hour
Compensation review after 90 days, with the opportunity for a rate adjustment based on performance, reliability, responsibilities, and overall fit
