NOW HIRING Dental Hygienist Forest, Virginia Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible Schedule

Great Hygienists Deserve Great Practices. This Is One of Them. You already know the difference between a dental practice that treats hygienists like assembly-line workers and one that treats you like the licensed healthcare professional you are. This posting is for the second kind. A well-established dental practice in Forest, Virginia is hiring a Dental Hygienist who is passionate about patient care, respected for clinical expertise, and ready to work in an environment where quality comes first. Full-time and part-time options are available with a flexible schedule, competitive hourly pay between $45 and $50 per hour, and a benefits package that most dental offices in the Lynchburg area simply cannot match.

Compensation & Benefits

No vague salary ranges. No fine print. Here is exactly what this position offers: Hourly pay ranges from $45-$50 per hour based on experience, with medical coverage available, dental insurance (because a dental hygienist should absolutely have dental coverage), employer-matched 401(k) retirement savings, paid time off for both full-time and part-time employees, flexible scheduling options to fit your life, and employee discounts on dental services for you and your family. $45-$50 per hour puts this position at the top of the pay range for dental hygienists in the Lynchburg, Forest, and Bedford County area. Add in benefits, flexibility, and a practice that actually values your work, and this is a hard opportunity to beat.

Responsibilities

This is a clinical dental hygienist role where you are trusted to do what you were trained to do:

Perform thorough dental cleanings, prophylaxis, and scaling and root planning for patients of all ages
Conduct comprehensive oral examinations and patient assessments
Take and interpret dental x-rays (digital radiographs)
Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as clinically indicated
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, home care, and preventive strategies
Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and clinical charting
Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique at all times
Ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
Utilize dental practice management software (Eaglesoft) for scheduling, charting, and billing workflows
Monitor patient vital signs and conduct thorough periodontal assessments This is a practice where your clinical judgment matters. You are not just cleaning teeth on a timer. You are a healthcare provider delivering individualized care to every patient in your chair.

About the Company

The dental hygienist shortage is real. Practices across Virginia are struggling to hire because they offer low pay, no flexibility, and treat hygienists as replaceable. This practice takes the opposite approach:

Competitive top-of-market pay at $45-$50 per hour
Flexible scheduling with both full-time and part-time options
A supportive clinical team that respects your scope of practice
Modern dental technology including digital radiography and Eaglesoft practice management
Benefits that are increasingly rare for dental hygienists: health insurance, dental insurance, 401(k) match, and PTO
A patient base that values their oral health and keeps appointments Translation: This is a practice that understands if they want to attract and keep great hygienists, they need to offer more than a chair and a scaler. They have built an environment where you can do your best clinical work and have a life outside the operatory.

Requirements

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate is an experienced, licensed dental hygienist who takes pride in patient outcomes:

Active Virginia dental hygienist license (RDH) or ability to obtain one before start date
Minimum of 2+ years of clinical dental hygiene experience preferred
Strong patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and periodontal evaluation
Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization protocols, and infection control best practices
Familiarity with dental practice management software, ideally Eaglesoft
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy protection
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients
Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration certification
Must be able to commute to or relocate to Forest, Virginia
