We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice! We are a small private practice, and we put patient care first. We believe in an upbeat and positive culture to best support our patients. We value our team as individuals and try to provide flexibility since family time is important to us. Single column only. Our practice operates Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Fluent in Spanish is a plus!!! Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality dental services while utilizing advanced dental technology and adhering to all safety and health regulations.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to prevent periodontal disease
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using modern imaging equipment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care and maintain proper infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Review and update medical records accurately within our Open Dental software
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Document treatment procedures, patient responses, and other relevant information thoroughly
- Maintain a sterile environment following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Support general dentistry procedures with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding when necessary
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software Open Dental for documentation and scheduling. We can always train!
- Skilled in prophylaxis, gingival scaling, scaling and root planning as well as oral hygiene instructions.
- Strong knowledge of vital signs monitoring, dental imaging, and medical/dental terminology
- Strong collaboration skills within a dental team setting.
- Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and general dentistry practices
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical records management, and documentation review processes
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiarity with medical coding is highly desirable.
