Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and taking dental radiographs using medical imaging technology. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their overall health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation review standards. Support the dental team in general dentistry procedures by preparing instruments and assisting during treatments with aseptic technique. Adhere to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and medical records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-focused patient care is highly desirable. Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Ability to monitor vital signs accurately and operate medical imaging equipment effectively. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including children and special needs patients.
