Loving Family Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to join our team. Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Demonstrate positive behaviors that reflect the values of Loving Family Dental.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Serve as a representative of the office, modeling the values, beliefs, behavior, and communication embraced by Loving Family Dental.
Clinical Skills
- Perform treatments as indicated, addressing patients' dental hygiene needs.
- Conduct patient screening procedures including:
- Oral health assessment
- Medical history review
- Oral cancer screening
- Head and neck inspection
- Monitoring vital signs
- Epworth screening
- Assist in sterilization processes and ensure consistent monitoring throughout the day.
- Use intraoral cameras on every patient to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
- Identify unacceptable oral problems (without diagnosing or presenting solutions); educate patients on consequences if left untreated.
- Take quality radiographs and impressions as necessary.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Accurately chart existing restorations and treatments diagnosed/recommended by the dentist.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and use universal precautions at all times.
- Effectively manage schedule and alert the front office to changes or delays.
- Provide support to other hygiene team members during downtime.
- Complete daily responsibilities such as stocking rooms and hygiene trays.
Patient Satisfaction
- Greet and seat patients in a timely manner to ensure smooth workflow.
- Build upon existing patient relationships to foster trust and comfort.
- Deliver comfortable treatment procedures tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Create positive rapport with patients through excellent communication skills.
- Maintain punctuality by planning ahead and anticipating future needs.
Documentation
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of all patient forms and charting systems.
- Effectively utilize the S.O.A.P. method for documentation.
- Review medical history with each patient prior to treatment.
- Provide Oral Hygiene Instructions (OHI) as needed.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation for specialty referrals or procedures diagnosed/recommended.
Compensation
- Salary:
50 –
55 per hour
- Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) plan; production incentives
Qualifications
- Local anesthetic certification required
- Proficiency with laser technology is a plus
- Preference for candidates proficient in Dentrix software
