Overview
As a patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist, your role is to serve as both a clinical expert and as an advocate for patient wellness. You will empower patients through personalized education, ensuring they have the tools to make informed decisions about their own oral health journey.
Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Imaging & Assessments: Take high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photos to assist in diagnosing hidden pathologies. Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including medical history reviews and risk evaluations.
- Screenings: Perform routine oral cancer screenings and periodontal charting to identify early signs of gum disease or other abnormalities.
- Preventative & Periodontal Care: Perform professional prophylaxis, including the removal of plaque, tartar, and stains. Execute thorough scaling and root planing (SRP) for patients requiring specialized periodontal therapy.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous patient records using Curve Hero dental software, including clinical notes, treatment plans, and updated periodontal charts.
Advocacy & Education
- Patient Empowerment: Act as an educator by teaching effective brushing and flossing techniques tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Health Counseling: Provide guidance on the link between nutrition, lifestyle, and oral-systemic health.
- Treatment Advocacy: Communicate recommended treatments professionally, helping patients understand the "why" behind their care to foster long-term commitment to their health.
Operational Support
- Sterilization: Assist in maintaining a safe clinical environment by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing dental instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Office Stewardship: Maintain a clean and professional environment between professional cleanings by managing clinical laundry, disposing of trash as needed, and ensuring common areas remain tidy.
- Scheduling: Use Curve Hero to coordinate follow-up re-care and necessary treatment appointments, ensuring continuity of care.
Requirements
- Licensing: Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) NC license required.
- Experience: Previous experience with Curve Hero software is preferred but not required.
- Certification: Local Anesthesia Certification is a plus but not a requirement.
Compensation & Benefits
