Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Assistant to join our team. This position requires a dedicated professional who can provide exceptional support to our surgeons and ensure the highest level of patient care. The role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Surgeons: Provide assistance to surgeons during oral and maxillofacial procedures, ensuring all necessary preparations and documentation are completed efficiently.
Chair-side Support: Deliver excellent chair-side clinical support, including charting, operatory set-up, and clean-up, to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
Radiography: Take dental radiographs/x-rays and cone beam 3D scans as required for diagnostic purposes.
Sedation Assistance: Assist with sedation processes by preparing patients for treatment, explaining procedures, and ensuring they are comfortable.
Patient Monitoring: Monitor patient vital statistics and intravenous fluids during surgery. Promptly notify the surgeon of any issues that arise.
Post-Operative Care: Provide patients with follow-up instructions and postoperative care tips to ensure optimal recovery.
Impression Taking: Capable of taking impressions and pouring up plaster diagnostic models for surgical planning.
Qualifications
Sedation Certification: Must be sedation certified. DANCE, OMAAP, or other Anesthesia/Sedation monitoring certification is required.
Experience: Previous experience in an oral surgery setting is preferred but not mandatory if you have the necessary certifications.
Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent organizational abilities.

Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time (30–35 hours per week) Benefits: Paid time off
